July 2017
We recently moved from California to the state of Georgia and found they allow fireworks in the state, this was going to be a good 4th of July this year!
Being big fans of firework shows we were ready to celebrate our first 4th of July in our new state of Georgia, with our own fireworks.
Coming from California, only Safe and Sane fireworks were allowed that basically consisted of sparklers, smoke bombs and some fountains of various sizes and times.
California had no black cats, no Roman Candles, or screaming mimis, no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers, no whistlin’ bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don’ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin’ kitty chaser. (quotes from Joe Dirt)
In Georgia, all kinds of fireworks are allowed (including all of the above heh) and there are a couple of stores near the county line that contain the most amazing collections of fireworks I’ve ever seen.
Amazingly we found that fireworks of all kinds were even available at the local Sam’s Club near our town. Now that was convenient!
We bought some skyrockets, firecrackers and mortars and got together with family on the 4th, had a nice bbq picnic and then had a blast (literally) lighting off some spectacular fireworks all night.
The above video is of us lighting off some of our fireworks. My son was the pyro in charge of lighting the pyrotechnics.
It was a great 4th, many of the neighbors were lighting off lots of good fireworks too .. it soon became a neighborhood-wide show for all to enjoy.
It was a great way to celebrate our country’s birthday in our new state.
