One thing about Albuquerque New Mexico that I really enjoy, in addition to the beautiful scenery great food and history, are the many really good brewpubs that have popped up over the years.

One such place is called Alien Brewpub.

I was traveling for business and a co-worker who lives in the area and really knows beers recommended I go to Alien Brewpub for dinner.

This place has a fun theme with Alien spaceship decorations throughout the brewery.

I looked over the menu and decided to try their Alien Burger.

This burger is a New Mexico State Fair winner. It consists of an 8oz patty, two slices of American cheese, Apple wood smoked bacon and garlic mustard. Topped with a crunch green Chile tempura and chipotle aioli on a fresh baked artisan roll.

Have to admit, it was darn good. Hit the spot and paired well with several of their beers.

Alien Brewpub has a nice selection of beers consisting of their own brews made in house – Milky Way Stout, Alien Amber Ale, a Pilsner, Sun Chaser Pale Ale, Poncho Verde Chili Cerveza, Imperial Stout, Black Hole IPA, and another IPA and an American Lager.

Tried the Poncho Verde Chili Cerveza, it had a spicy after bite but it was really tasty.

They had a very unique bar, only place I’ve ever seen a place to put your beer down that kept it cold. Very interesting, and useful!

This was a fun place and is good for both lunch or dinner (I found myself going back a couple more times while there). The atmosphere was cool, the food, beer and drinks good and the service excellent.
