While working in Memphis Tennessee last month I got a chance to visit and walk around famous Beale Street, home of the American Blues music.
After walking around the street for a while, checking out both sides of the street and all the shops and restaurants along the couple of short blocks, my co-worker and I decided to grab some lunch and so we headed into B.B. King’s Blues Club.
Put on my blue suede shoes
And I boarded the plane
Touched down in the land of the Delta Blues
In the middle of the pouring rain
W.C. Handy, won’t you look down over me
Yeah, I got a first class ticket
But I’m as blue as a boy can be
Then I’m walking in Memphis
Walking with my feet ten feet off of Beale
Walking in Memphis
But do I really feel the way I feel?
One day while working in Memphis Tennessee, my co-workers and I decided to try some local BBQ for lunch so we headed over to a famous rib joint downtown called Rendezvous. I had heard about this place before and looked forward to checking it out.
We parked in a nearby parking structure and walked to the alley where, strangely enough, the entrance to the restaurant is located. As we walked we could smell the smoke from the charcoal-fired pits all the way down the block. It was pretty easy to find the entrance just by following our noses.
If you love music, especially rock n roll – then you will one day want to see Sun Studio in Memphis Tennessee where some of the most famous musicians on the planet first recorded and became famous. I was awestruck while visiting this historic building.
While working in Ann Arbor Michigan, another restaurant that came highly recommended was Tomukun, which is a restaurant with two sides.
One side is a Noodle Bar serving Pho and more and the other (where we dined) was as described on their website, a Korean BBQ restaurant and bar in downtown Ann Arbor Michigan that features table-top grills, classic Korean soul food and a variety of Asian draft beers, soju, makgeulli, and cocktails.
While working in Ann Arbor Michigan this past January, my customer recommended several times that my co-workers and I head to downtown Ann Arbor to try a local favorite Italian restaurant, and so of course we went, gotta eat right? 🙂
Went off-roading with friends last weekend in the local hills of Nevada near Wellington / Lake Topaz / Minden / Carson City.
Started out in Topaz Ranch/Wellington and rode out in two off-road side by side rzrs on back country trails up Minnehaha Canyon and over Bald Mountain to an old house in the middle of nowhere built in the 1800’s and then we rode on and checked out the hot springs along the Carson river.
While working near Charlotte North Carolina I ventured out over a weekend to explore the local area and went to an old historic town called Salem where I had lunch at The Tavern.
Old Salem is very historic. Experience early American history in the unique Moravian settlement of Salem. Original structures, gardens, tours, artifacts, hands-on workshops, fun family events and shopping
The Tavern is in Old Salem in Winston-Salem, NC. This 1816 historical two-story building still has the design of years past with the kitchen in the basement and intimate dining rooms on the first and second floor.
